This listing is for the MEDIUM SIZE, enclosed airline pet carrier with 3 vents/openings ~ Here is a bag that rivals the expensive designer bags. Not only does it look great with it's classy lines and fabrics , the bag has many nice features. The inside of this bag is as nice as the outside. The sides are padded lining. The bottom liner is padded, but is not a "cushion". I carry all three sizes: Small, Medium and Large. Weight based shipping cost - 6 or 7 pounds. This style carrier cannot be monogrammed. My costs have recently increased and are reflected in slightly higher prices.
PLEASE NOTE: Many fabric patterns are usually available in most sizes, but availability does vary and not all fabrics are always pictured or currently in stock. EMAIL questions or tell me the size and fabric (if you know it) that you want and I'll email a list of all fabrics that are currently available in that size. Larger photos can also be emailed. If you see some of the great luggage available now in a pattern you like, I may be able to order a pet carrier in the same fabric. I often can order luggage, backpacks, rolling duffles, etc. to match the pet carriers. I’ll be happy to check for you.
PLEASE MEASURE your pet CAREFULLY and order the correct size bag. The pet should fit comfortably into the dimensions of the carrier - this is more important than the weight of the animal. If they fit comfortably into the carrier, chances are good that they will not be too heavy for it. Refunds cannot be given because you order the wrong size. Exchanges may be made at my discretion, but buyer is responsible for all shipping charges - both ways.
SIZES Large and Small are listed separately. Small & Medium enclosed carriers are generally accepted by many airlines for in-cabin travel. Soft-side carriers cannot be used for baggage area travel for pets.
Small: 15"L x 8.5"W x 9.5"H; Pet weight: Approximately up to 8#, depending primarily on pet's dimensions. Medium: 16"L x 9"W x 10"H; Pet weight: Approximately up to 10#, depending primarily on pet's dimensions. Large: 18"L x 10"W x 11.5"H; Pet weight: Approximately up to 12#, depending primarily on pet's dimensions. Large may not always be approved by all airlines - check with yours to be sure.
Flying with your pet inside the cabin: Check with YOUR airline. Small and medium fully enclosed carriers are the sizes generally accepted by most airlines for in cabin use. Soft-side carriers cannot be used for baggage area travel for pets. Usually a carrier is required to be vented on three (3) sides and be large enough for your pet to change positions. The airline I used had a weight limit of 15 pounds for the pet AND the carrier. BUT -- You really should check with the airline that you are using to be certain about their specific regulations. They are not all the same, I've found. By giving them a call beforehand, you'll save time, effort and maybe money, should you purchase a carrier that they will not accept. We used ours also on a passenger ferry to Canada that had regulations similar to the airlines. I am not an expert, but have flown with my small dog inside the cabin of several airlines using both the small and medium enclosed carriers that I sell.
And a tip – the airlines require reservations (and an additional fee, of course) for your pet and only accept a limited number of in-cabin animals on each flight. It is a good idea to make reservations early, especially around busy dates.
