Each star is handmade by an Amish family -- The son of one family, who supplied these to me for almost 10 years, has started a family of his own and needs to work full time. He has passed the business to his aunt's family, his father's sister, who now makes them for me. They farm and make them during off times when they can take some time from farming and chores. They are delightful people. They use recycled tin from barns and outbuildings in the area and employ old-fashioned construction methods. Yes, I know that's a lot of old tin, but I've seen it - and it's true!
This is the only size of the Americana stars that the family makes (here in the USA). Smaller Americana stars are new and are imported.
Please remember, the stars are handmade by individuals, not produced in a large or sophisticated operation. Therefore, items may vary a little in color, rusting, paint coverage and condition of tin. Most have variations in paint coverage, and some even arrive with a little dirt on them. The family paints much of the tin before constructing the stars -- that's the way we get the "designer" colors. PHOTOS ARE REPRESENTATIONS and will vary to some extent from the star you actually receive. If you want "cookie cutter" perfect, these may not be the stars for you.
Stars have a metal "tab" across the back of one point for hanging. Bolts are included for the larger sizes to make assembly quite easy. If I don’t have the size/color combination you want in stock, I can order it for you.
Please confirm shipping cost with me if it sounds excessive - the shipping calculator does not always figure shipping cost correctly when more than one star is ordered.
